A rare, probably privately published view, of Enville Hall near Stourbridge, Staffordshire, home of the ancient Grey family. The plate is dedicated to George Harry Grey 5th Earl of Stamford (1737-1819). This view shows the lake on the left in the foreground, with swans and cattle standing in the water and a small sailing boat. On the right horses graze in the fields, sheep and a ruined gateway are visible on a distant hill, with a view of the house on the right. The house was originally a small brick edifice, erected by Thomas Grey (d. 1579), considerably enlarged and castellated in the gothic manner by succeeding owners.
