An engraving from a rare set of locally published prints showing trades by Georg Daniel Heumann,  born 23rd. September 1691 in Nurenberg, died June 27th. 1759.
He was one of the most importrant engravers working on Johann Jakob Scheuchzer’s Physica Sacra from 1731 to 1753. The 16 year- old Christian von Mechel becake a pupil of his in 1753.
From 1740 onwards he was working in Gottingen as the first ‘Gottingisch-Academy’ engraver, from which period this charming set of prints come.
Through his work, which was published in Germany, France and England, he was known throughout Europe.
