A portrait of Onorio Marinari, painter engraver born in Florence in 1627. His principal works are in the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, and in that of San Simone at Florence.
From a collection of 324 portraits printed with the revolutionary method of Dagoty- Le Blon based on Newton's Theory of Colours, one of the first books ever printed in Italy with this technique. The copper plates are inked with blue, red and yellow giving the impression of watercolour. A monumental and beautiful work.
