Grantly standing in profile, his right hand thrust under his partly buttoned coat, his left hand under his coat-tail. He wears a tie-wig and a sword.
Sir Fletcher Norton (1716 – 1789), was Speaker from 1770 – 1780, he was  created Baron Grantley on April 9th. 1782. He was called by satirists ‘Sir Bull-face Double-face’.
From a series of small, whole length caricature portraits of prominent members of the Whig Coalition and opponents of the American War. The inspiration was apparently the ministerial changes of March 1782.
