Pierre Charron (1541 – November 16, 1603) was a French 16th-century Catholic theologian and philosopher, and a disciple and contemporary of Michel Montaigne.
Active in Paris from around 1560 to 1612, he was a pupil of Jean Rabel and Antoine Caron. He devoted himself to portraiture and was considered one of the finest artists of his time. He died about 1620
