A fine, impressive, three quarter length, seated portrait of the Hertfordshire and Essex worthy John Oxley Parker (1745-c.1820). He is seated in a large, carved armchair, with a volume of Rayne’s Repository on the turkey carpet covered table at his left elbow; wearing a dark coat and trousers. He has a handsome, aquiline face and a fine head of grey hair.
